WASHINGTON — Rep. Kathleen Rice released the following statement today following her recent trip to Israel as part of a bipartisan Congressional delegation:

“Last week I had the pleasure of joining a bipartisan group of Members of Congress on a trip to Israel, where we met with Prime Minister Netanyahu, Members of the Knesset and top security officials. Throughout our many meetings, we expressed a strong, bipartisan commitment to Israel and its security. We also had the opportunity to meet with  Palestinian officials and business leaders in Ramallah, where we discussed the peace process, economic development and humanitarian aid efforts, and the urgent need to stop Hamas’ hostilities against Israel. Finally, I had the honor of meeting with the American Ambassador to Israel, David Friedman, at our new embassy in Jerusalem to learn more about the state of the important diplomatic relationship between our two countries. Israel is our closest and most critical ally in the Middle East, and I have always believed not just in supporting that relationship, but in making sure that it transcends party lines and remains a top bipartisan priority. I look forward to sharing everything I learned with my colleagues in Congress and my constituents back home, and I’m extremely grateful to Congressman Ted Deutch for leading this important visit.”
